A series of Russian missiles exploded in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, during the early hours of this Sunday, leaving at least one dead and five injured. This comes a day after a drone offensive by Ukraine against Russia.
The Ukrainian Air Force previously warned Kyiv residents about the approach of ballistic missiles when journalists from the AFP agency reported the explosions.
After the attack, the military force reported via Telegram that “according to preliminary information, one person sadly died as a result of the attack (…) Another five people were injured with varying degrees of severity.”
According to the capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, the nighttime attacks caused fires and damaged structures in several districts of the city.
Meanwhile, local Ukrainian authorities reported one death as a result of the Russian drone attack in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, near the combat line.
At the same time, a Ukrainian attack left one person dead in the Kursk region, Russia, according to the local government.
The nighttime bombings come after a Ukrainian drone attack on two logistics centers in Russia, an offensive that left at least eight dead in the west of that country.
