Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of attempting to attack the plane he was traveling on at least twice in the past two weeks, on both occasions while flying over Moldova, days after the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Store, reported one of these incidents.

Store stated last week that Zelensky’s plane “was almost hit” by a drone in Moldovan airspace when heading to Oslo to attend the funeral of the late King Harald V. The Ukrainian leader has confirmed the incident and added that he experienced a similar incident on his return.
“My presidential plane was in Moldova, and that’s why they attacked Moldova”, Zelensky said in an interview with the American television network CBS. “When we returned home, again passing through Chisinau, they did the same,” the Ukrainian leader assured.

Russian authorities rejected last week the allegations of an alleged drone attack attempt against Zelensky’s plane when it was about to take off from Moldova to go to Norway. Moscow has not yet commented on the Ukrainian president’s claims about the second, previously unknown incident.
