The Israeli Army issued this Saturday new forced evacuation orders to a dozen towns in southern Lebanon located north of the Litani River, the front of the Israeli invasion of the country until this past Friday, when the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, confirmed an expansion of operations after days of intensifying attacks.

The Israeli Army spokesperson in Arabic, Avichai Adraee, has confirmed up to three forced displacement orders, a crime under International law, for residents of the mentioned localities to leave “north of the Zahrani River,” located 15 kilometers north of Litani, after justifying the expansion of their operations by accusing Hezbollah militias of “breaking the ceasefire.”
All this happens after new Israeli nighttime bombings that have left at least three dead and around a dozen injured. Two of them, father and son, died after being hit by a drone in the Al Marj neighborhood in Ansar; an attack that injured seven members of their family, according to the official Lebanese news agency NNA.
This morning, another attack on a pickup truck on the Sharifa-Haboush-Nabatiye road killed one man and seriously injured another, and another almost simultaneous bombing on the road leading to the Nabih Berri Governmental Hospital left three more injured, according to the Lebanese agency.
A shopping center in the town of Ansar was destroyed and the towns of Zabdin and Haruf were also hit by Israeli projectiles.

Amid this crisis, the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, held an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Nauaf Salam in which both reviewed “the overall situation of the country and the evolution of security in the south” amid the ongoing Israeli attacks.
“This adds to the constant threats against the civilian population and the repeated calls for them to abandon their homes and livelihoods,” the Presidency denounced.
“The conversation between both also addressed preparations for the next round of negotiations with Israel, scheduled for June 2 and 3,” the statement concluded.
