The Regional Directorate of Education of Ica (DRE Ica) ordered this Thursday the suspension of afternoon classes in all educational institutions in the region following the earthquake, whose energy was felt in wide areas of the country, including Ica. The measure, of a preventive nature, seeks to protect students, teachers, administrative staff, and other members of the school community from the risks derived from the seismic movement.

The decision of the DRE Ica is framed within the response protocols for seismic emergencies. According to the official statement, the suspension of the afternoon shift applies to all educational institutions in the region, regardless of level or modality. The educational authority emphasized that the measure aims to facilitate the evaluation of the safety conditions of the school infrastructure before students enter the classrooms.
