Iranian authorities denounced this Friday that the latest attacks perpetrated by US forces against the country have hit the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard Navy in the coastal town of Zibakenar, in Gilan province, in the north of the country.
Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Baqeri, reported that “damage” has been recorded to part of the equipment stored at said headquarters as part of the US attacks against the area, where several missiles have impacted, according to information collected by the Iranian news agency ISNA.
“Around 7:30 (hours) this morning, the Navy headquarters was hit by enemy projectiles,” he stated. “After initial investigations, we can rule out fatalities, at least for now,” he added.
This Friday, the country’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, threatened to adopt “retaliatory measures against any country that participates, cooperates, or helps the United States carry out its attacks.” “Any participation against Iran will entail consequences and responsibilities for the parties involved,” he noted.
He also lamented the “silence of the international community,” which “turns the crime into a recurring pattern.” “Defending the principles of International Law is defending collective security; Iran has not initiated nor will it initiate any war. Iran faces a challenge against the foundations of the international legal order, and not just a threat to its national security,” he highlighted.
“Weakening the principle of prohibiting the use of force and normalizing military aggression leaves no country exempt from its consequences,” he maintained in statements collected by the IRIB television channel.
For his part, Iran’s ‘number two’ in the Army, Habibollah Sayari, stated that the power of Iranian forces is “incredible” for the United States. “The desire for revenge against the enemy and the capacity for resistance have been greatly strengthened, which is difficult for adversaries to digest,” he continued.
“It has been the people who, with their presence in the streets and in the field, have reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the martyrs and have insisted on supporting the Armed Forces. This is something the enemy has failed to understand and has misinterpreted,” he stated. “Surrender has no place in the military or cultural vocabulary of the Iranian people,” he concluded.
