The Israel Army announced this Friday the death of an alleged “commander” of the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Ezeldín al Qasam Brigades, and two other members of the group in a bombing carried out on Thursday in the southern Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire agreed in October 2025 following the proposal presented by the United States for the future of the enclave.
“In a precision bombing launched on Thursday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet killed in the Jan Yunis area Muhamad Yazuri, who was commander of the Jan Yunis Brigade of Hamas’s military wing in the Strip,” the Army said in a statement.
Thus, it stated that Yazuri “was responsible for managing the activities of the brigade’s terrorists and directing their activities when preparing and executing plans against the IDF and the State of Israel,” before highlighting that the attack also killed Hudaifa Mamar, “company commander,” and Muhamad Bahjat Rachi, “another terrorist of Hamas’s military wing.”
The Palestinian Islamist group has not yet commented on the attack, carried out despite the aforementioned ceasefire. During this period, nearly 1,360 Palestinians have died from Israeli attacks, according to Gaza authorities, who raise the death toll to 73,670 since the start of the Israeli offensive following the attacks of October 7, 2023.
