Kimi Antonelli makes a strong comeback in Formula 1 to lead the qualifying session at the Belgian Grand Prix. Just as he had done in the Silverstone session, at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit he repeated his good performance and took the pole position. It is his sixth victory of the season at this stage, adding to the celebrations in China, Japan, Miami, Monaco, and the aforementioned performance in Great Britain.
The Mercedes driver covered the 7,004 meters of the track in one minute, 44 seconds, and 361 thousandths. He won the Q3 battle against Max Verstappen, who, aboard his Red Bull single-seater, had finished just 317 thousandths behind.
Although Lando Norris was closing the podium, the FIA penalized him with a 10-place grid drop for changing the battery without authorization. In that sense, the McLaren representative and current champion of the event was relegated to thirteenth position and ceded his place to George Russell, the other Mercedes member and current runner-up to Antonelli in the general standings.

Charles Leclerc, who had surprised with his first victory of the year in Silverstone, became fourth on the grid, while Lewis Hamilton, his Ferrari colleague, will be fifth.
These positions only serve to ignite the premier category of motorsport. In fact, the race in Belgium promises to be one of the most contested of the season. This Sunday, at 9 AM Chile time, Antonelli will seek to maintain his lead against the siege of Russell, Mad Max, and the Cavallino Rampante duo.
