US President Donald Trump announced that the United States will reinstate the blockade of Iranian ports.
“The Strait of Hormuz is OPEN and will remain so, with or without Iran. We are reinstating the IRANIAN BLOCKADE, so called because it only prevents the entry and exit of Iranian ships or clients. All other countries will have fair and free use of the strait,” he wrote on his social network Truth Social.
“From now on, the United States will be known as ‘THE GUARDIAN OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ,’ but, as such and for reasons of FAIRNESS, it will receive a 20% refund on all cargo transported, for every single cost necessary to provide security to this highly volatile area of the world. The process and training will begin immediately,” he added.
This occurs amid the resumption of attacks between both countries. According to the BBC network, a large fire in a hangar at Aghajari airport, in Omidiyeh, southwest Iran, was captured in images that apparently show the consequences of the US nighttime attacks against Iran.
Meanwhile, in a statement released by the Tasnim news agency, a spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran states that the United States has “put the security of the global oil and gas supply at serious risk” by interfering in the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement adds that Iran continues to control the strait and “will force foreign powers and their allies to submit to the will of the Iranian people.”
“We will bring them (the United States) to even greater humiliation and despair with their new acts of aggression,” it says.
Oil prices rebounded at the start of this morning’s trading session after the latest reciprocal attacks, but remain well below the peak reached at the height of the conflict.
