Iran accused the United States of accelerating the escalation of the war in the Middle East and warned the countries of the region about the dangers of military cooperation with the American country led by Donald Trump.

Through a statement released by the Tasnim agency, the commander of the Central Headquarters Jatam al Anbiya, Ali Abdolahi, said that “Muslim countries must reconsider their cooperation and collaboration with the United States. Otherwise, any country that becomes the defensive shield of the criminal and aggressive United States will burn in the fire of war.”
In this regard, the Iranian military emphasized that Washington “continues, with increasing acceleration, the path of a widespread escalation of regional war.” The goal, according to Abdolahi, is “to expand and consolidate an illegitimate dominance over the entire region.”
Additionally, the Iranian leader stated that the United States uses “the capital, wealth, vital infrastructures, and strategic resources” of the countries in the region as “a defensive shield for its worn-out army” and, at the same time, to strengthen “the war and security machinery” of Israel.
The commander also highlighted that the Islamic Republic and the Axis of Resistance altered the “balance of power” in the region, which would have led the United States and Israel to wage war “from behind the trenches of Muslim countries,” transferring the cost of the conflict to neighboring states.
The statements come amid increasing offensives between Tehran and Washington—following the breakdown of the memorandum of understanding just over a month ago—the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports and ships, and Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Furthermore, Tehran previously attacked U.S. military bases in countries such as Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan in response to U.S. offensives.
Along the same lines, Iran warned that it could tighten the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and block other maritime passages if the United States maintains the naval siege.
The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohamad Bagher Zolgadr, told Tasnim that “the naval blockade and the war escalation by the U.S. regime will reinforce the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and also cause the closure of other straits and choke points.”
Additionally, Zolgadr stated that “the price of this will be paid by the global economy and the energy market.”
A senior Iranian security official, cited by the agency, said that the Iranian Armed Forces “have demonstrated, both during the 40-day war and its continuation over the past weeks, that they have both the capacity and the will” to carry out such operations.
Meanwhile, the U.S. president, Donald Trump, who temporarily suspended attacks against Iran to allow room for negotiations, declared on Friday that he is losing “faith” in the Iranian negotiators because “they lie.”
