At least 10 people died and dozens were injured during a Russian attack with ballistic missiles and drones against Kiev and its region, recorded during the early hours of this Saturday.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia launched 35 missiles, including 27 ballistic missiles, as well as 185 drones. He added that only one of the ballistic missiles was intercepted.
“Simply because there are no interceptors for the Patriot system,” said the president, who warned that Ukraine has run out of missiles for U.S.-made air defense systems.
“Each package of ballistic missile interceptors saves the lives of our people. And every night without them results in more casualties,” Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, the attacks caused damage in seven districts of Kiev. Zelensky indicated that 18 residential buildings, a school, the Lithuanian Embassy, and various infrastructure facilities were affected.
Authorities reported that seven people died in the Darnytskyi district, another two in Solomyanskyi, and one more died in the Kiev region, where damage was also reported in warehouses and storage facilities. Additionally, dozens of people were injured, including four children.

The attack constitutes the second large-scale bombing of Kiev in the last week, following the offensive recorded on Thursday, which left nine dead, including six members of the same family in a locality near Kryvyi Rih.
Meanwhile, Zelensky assured that Ukrainian forces continue attacking military and energy infrastructure on Russian territory. According to him, the troops reached facilities in three oil refineries in the Bashkortostan region and other targets linked to Moscow’s war effort.
Ukraine maintains that the shortage of Patriot interceptors is partly due to some of those supplies being redirected to the U.S. military and its allies in the Gulf following the conflict with Iran.
Both Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately attacking the civilian population during the war that began with the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.
