US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet next Tuesday, July 28, at the White House, in what will be their sixth face-to-face meeting during the American leader’s second term and the first since the outbreak of the Iran war.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office has confirmed that Netanyahu will depart for Washington on Monday and during his visit will attend, as an Israeli representative, the first funeral services to be held that same day in Washington in memory of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a staunch defender of Israel, who died suddenly on July 11.
The last direct meeting between the two occurred on February 11 of this year, 17 days before the coordinated attack by the United States and Israel against Tehran, which marked the beginning of the war.
The Israeli Prime Minister, it should be remembered, unsuccessfully attempted to arrange a meeting last week. Netanyahu’s office even notified the Israeli Air Force to prepare his official plane and sent an advance team of protocol and security officials to Washington. However, the initial trip was canceled, according to Netanyahu’s office, due to the postponement of Graham’s funeral.
