United States President Donald Trump warned his Russian and Chinese counterparts, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, this Friday not to dare to sell weapons to Iran because “it would go against their interests” although he also says both have guaranteed him that they are not carrying out such operations.

Xi Jinping promised Trump that his country was not participating in any way during the last summit they held in Beijing. “He told me that under no circumstances were they buying and selling weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and that statement includes Chinese companies,” the US president explained in a message published on his digital platform.
“Given our relationship, I take him at his word. Also, I am doing him very big favors,” Trump added, without giving further details.

Regarding Putin, “despite the horrible war in Ukraine,” Trump says he has also received assurances of the same. The United States president insists that his relationship with his Russian counterpart “still continues” because Putin understands that the United States “is not selling weapons to Ukraine, but to NATO countries,” which are paying “full price” and he has “no idea how the aforementioned weapons are redistributed.”
With these statements, the White House chief wanted to conclude that “two of the great countries that occasionally talk about Iran are not participating” in the conflict, but he clarified that “if they did, it would be very bad for both, something that certainly would not be in their best interests.”
